Stilling of the storm

Mark 4:35-41 translated for performance

On that day when the evening had come,

He said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.”

And leaving the crowd,

They took him with them in the boat, just as he was.

(Other boats were with him.)

And a fierce windstorm formed,

And the waves were breaking into the boat

So that the boat was already filling up!

Yet he was in the stern, on a cushion…sleeping!

And they roused him / raised him saying,

“Teacher don’t you care that we are being destroyed?”

And he roused/raised up and rebuked The Wind

And said to The Sea, “Silence! Shut it!”

And The Wind died down, and a great calm settled.

He said to them, “Why are you (still) afraid?”

“Do you not yet trust (me)?”

And they feared a great fear

And they said to one another “Who is this that The Wind and The Sea obey him?”
